About iGen Foundation

iGen Foundation is a small Australian not-for-profit, established to

  1. Enabling greater economic inclusion through building entrepreneurial capability through skills and mindset development for those young people at risk of long-term unemployment, those who seek to grow their own business idea, and migrant entrepreneurs (many coming from the country of origin with a business idea but needing assistance to deliver that in Australia)

  2. Enabling greater social inclusion by building on the back of our wonderful multicultural society to build linkages between those cultures where joy, celebration and innovation can occur through shared understandings.

e.g. empower intercultural knowledge sharing / support youth and migrant entrepreneurship and innovation. It operates on a volunteer basis, with no paid staff (currently), and relies on the commitment and efforts of its Board members and volunteers to deliver its programs, manage governance, funding, and stakeholder engagement.

Specific Role and Responsibility:

Volunteer - Digital Systems, OnLine Learning and Information Systems

iGen Foundation manages its workload through a number of portfolios, each Director has responsibility for a portfolio and coordinating a group to support the Director.

  • Reports to: Director, Strategic Advisor, Secretary
  • Time commitment: Approx. 6 hours per month, depending upon the level of engagement in supporting Directors by leading the Digital & Online Learning portfolio group; HubSpot, Google Suite support.

Portfolio role: Support the Directors in all digital systems of iGen Foundation including, Google Suite, onLine Learning Systems, and Hubspot.

Generic Responsibilities

As a Volunteer of iGen Foundation, you will:

  • Have no Governance or legal liabilities; these are vested with the Board
  • Be obliged to comply with all of our relevant policies including privacy and confidentiality
  • Be treated as a member of our team

Skills, Availability, Experience & Attributes

Ideal candidates will possess several of the following:

  • Have time to commit to the responsibilities of being a Volunteer of this type of entity
  • Strong understanding of digital systems (Google, Hubspot and Online Learning platforms)
  • Good logical thinking and capacity to contribute to setting direction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to listen, challenge, collaborate
  • Passion for the mission of iGen Foundation; belief in the value and impact of the work we do
  • Integrity, impartiality, and ability to avoid / manage conflicts of interest

Legal & Regulatory Obligations

  • Candidates must be over 18 and eligible under relevant legislation / the Foundation’s constitution.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest and manage them appropriately.

Application & Installation

  • Nominations open by early October 2026.
  • Submit a brief statement of interest (max. 250 words) and CV / relevant experience (no more than 3 pages)
  • Willing to be interviewed by the Board for suitability to join this board
  • New Volunteers will be inducted / provided with orientation materials, relevant documents (constitution, recent financials, strategic plan etc.).
  • Nominations close 23 October 2026
