Volunteer HR Coordinator - Remote

Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc. (LMA) is a registered charity that runs multicultural markets, festivals and family fundraising events across Victoria. All proceeds support Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity supporting disadvantaged young people in regional and rural Australia.
At a Glance
- Time commitment: Around 5 hours per week, flexible around your schedule, with some regular availability for interviews
- Duration: Minimum 6 months
- Location: Fully remote, open to anyone in Australia. Our team of around 50 volunteers is spread across the country
- Reports to: People and Culture Team Leader
- Training: Provided, including guidance and mentoring from an experienced HR leader.

Do you have an HR background, love staying organised and want to use your skills for a good cause? This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, handles personal information with care and likes to see every step followed through.
About the Role
As an HR Coordinator, you will help look after the volunteer journey, from application through to the first months in the role. You will work closely with the People and Culture Team Leader and Team Leaders across LMA to make sure every new volunteer feels welcome and is set up well.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft position descriptions and ads for new or updated roles
- Screen applications and conduct interviews via Google Meet
- Coordinate onboarding, including offer letters, compliance checks and system access
- Send 7, 21 and 40 day check-ins to new volunteers
- Track volunteer milestones and help celebrate them
- Keep our recruitment, onboarding and skills trackers up to date
- Attend training and the weekly online team meeting on Monday evenings
Essential Skills
- General HR experience, paid or volunteer, ideally in recruitment or onboarding
- Strong organisation skills and a commitment to tracking and following up
- Attention to detail and clear, warm communication
- Discretion with personal and confidential information
- Reliability and the ability to work independently in a remote team
- Confident using Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Drive and Google Meet
Desirable Skills
- Study in HR or a related field
- Previous volunteer or not-for-profit experience
