Coffs Community and Volunteer Centre (CCVC) is a friendly community hub dedicated to reducing isolation, strengthening wellbeing, and ensuring local people have a safe place to turn for guidance and connection. Our reception volunteers set the tone for our entire centre, offering every person who visits a calm, steady, and respectful welcome.

 

What You’ll Do

• Offer a friendly, reassuring presence at front reception for visitors, volunteers, and local residents.
• Answer general phone calls and connect community members with the right team member, service, or program.
• Assist with straightforward front-desk tasks, including taking messages, room bookings, and basic computer administration.
• Provide a patient, respectful listening ear to community members who may be having a tough day.
• Work as part of a supportive team, bringing paid staff into conversations whenever someone needs specialist help.

About This Role

This is a community-centred front-of-house role that thrives on life experience, emotional maturity, and a grounded perspective. You serve as the friendly face of our centre - creating an atmosphere of dignity, safety, and belonging for everyone who walks through the door. You focus on positive human connection and clear service guidance, backed by established centre procedures and the continuous support of staff and team on-site.
