About Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc

Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc. (LMA) is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation that brings communities together through family-focused fundraisers, markets and events across Victoria. All proceeds support Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia through mentoring, farming programs and skills development. Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

Role Purpose

Volunteering remotely within our People & Culture Team, you will get hands-on exposure across the volunteer lifecycle, from recruitment through to onboarding and ongoing engagement. This is a well-rounded entry point into HR coordination work, ideal for someone who wants breadth rather than a single narrow task list. Around 8-10 hours a week, flexible, fully remote, so it fits around study, other work or family commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment support: help review incoming applications, assist with scheduling interviews, and keep the recruitment tracker updated as candidates move through the process.
  • Onboarding support: help new volunteers work through their compliance paperwork and welcome steps, and keep the onboarding tracker current so nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Volunteer engagement: run light, planned activities in our Facebook group such as fun facts, polls and milestone shout-outs, and check in with new volunteers at key early milestones to see how they are settling in.
  • General People & Culture support: assist with volunteer records, policy documents and other ad hoc HR administration as needed.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Some experience in HR, administration or coordination (this can include study towards an HR or business qualification)
  • Strong organisational skills and reliability
  • Comfortable communicating with a wide range of people
  • Good judgement when handling sensitive information

Desirable

  • Prior experience in a volunteer or not-for-profit setting
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace

What we Offer

  • Broad, genuinely hands-on HR experience across recruitment, onboarding and engagement, rather than one narrow slice, useful for anyone building toward an HR career.
