Admin Assistant
Key duties
As an Admin Assistant, you’ll support the smooth running of the Gawler Community Gallery by helping with a range of administrative tasks. These may include:
• Posting updates and events on social media
• Updating simple Excel spreadsheets
• Creating basic marketing materials (posters, flyers, digital content)
• Assisting with general admin tasks such as printing and preparing artwork labels
• Helping with small organisational tasks as needed
You’re not expected to do everything, you can choose the areas you feel comfortable assisting with.
Skills and experience
You don’t need formal qualifications. The role suits someone who is organised, reliable, and comfortable using a computer. Basic familiarity with social media or Excel is helpful, but we’re happy to teach you. Creativity is welcome but not required.
About the organisation
The Gawler Community Gallery is a volunteer‑run, not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to supporting local artists and providing a welcoming space for the community to experience art. Our volunteers are the heart of the gallery, without them, we simply couldn’t operate.
Benefits of volunteering
• Flexible hours - even a few hours a month make a real difference

• Opportunities to learn new skills
• A chance to contribute to local arts and community culture
• A meaningful role where your efforts have visible impact
Impact of the role
Your contribution helps keep the gallery organised, running smoothly, and able to support local artists. By assisting with admin tasks, you free up other volunteers to focus on exhibitions, visitors, and community engagement, directly helping the gallery stay open and thriving.
