Role overview

• Lead FIFO family events with a commitment of around 1–2 days per week and increased hours in the lead-up to key events
• Coordinate Book Week activities, a Father’s Day picnic and a community Christmas party
• Option to support online webinars and event-related social media if you want extra hours and experience

Key duties

• Plan and coordinate event details, timelines and logistics
• Book and liaise with venues, suppliers and community partners
• Coordinate and brief volunteers before and during events
• Manage event registrations and attendee communications
• Oversee smooth on-the-day delivery (set-up, run sheet, pack-down)
• Capture basic event outcomes and feedback to inform future planning
• Optional: support event promotion and basic marketing activities, including social media content

Time commitment

• Approximately 1–2 days per week
• Extra hours in the lead-up to Book Week (August), the Father’s Day picnic (September) and the Christmas party (early December)
• Quieter weeks between events, with many tasks able to be completed remotely around your existing commitments

Skills and experience

• Organised, reliable and comfortable managing multiple moving parts
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, community-focused approach
• Interest in events, communications or marketing
• Previous events or community experience is helpful but not essential
• Confident using basic digital tools (email, online forms, and social platforms are a bonus)
