About Us

Get Around Caboolture is a community-driven NFP working to make transport in Caboolture and Morayfield easier, safer, and more reliable for everyone—whether they drive, walk, cycle, or use public transport. We believe everyone deserves the freedom to get where they need to go, and we share local stories through our Streets and People podcast, social media, and community events to make that happen.

The Role: Social Media Assistant

Help us amplify local voices and spark conversations about transport in our community. As our Social Media Champion, you’ll play a key role in sharing stories, promoting events, and connecting with residents—all while building your own skills in digital communication.

Key Tasks

  • Create engaging content: Write simple, relatable posts (text, images, short videos) that highlight transport challenges and solutions in Caboolture and Morayfield.
  • Shape content: Share content that appeals to different audiences on Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky, and LinkedIn to reach a wider audience.
  • Promote our podcast: Create content based on the podcast transcripts to grow the podcast audience.
  • Boost events and activities: Spread the word about community workshops, pop-ups, and campaigns.
  • Share local stories: Highlight real experiences from residents to show the human side of transport issues.

About You

  • No advanced experience is needed—just a passion for storytelling and community. We’re looking for someone who:
  • Enjoys writing, creating, or curating content (even as a beginner!).
  • Has basic familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Is friendly, respectful, and reliable—able to represent our group positively online.
  • Wants to learn and grow in digital communication.

Why Volunteer With Us?

  • Make a difference: Your posts will inform, inspire, and connect people in Caboolture and Morayfield.
  • Build skills: Gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and community engagement—great for your CV or future roles.
  • Flexible and fun: Volunteer on your own schedule, with a team that supports your ideas.
  • Be part of a movement: Help shape the conversation about transport in your community.

Why It Matters

Transport isn’t just about roads—it’s about access, independence, and opportunity. When people can’t get around easily, they miss out on jobs, education, healthcare, and social connections. By sharing stories and information, you’ll help break down barriers and ensure everyone in our community has a voice.
