Many Rivers Regional Aboriginal Housing Management Services

** Many Rivers Aboriginal Member and Future Director Opportunity**

Many Rivers is inviting Expressions of Interest from Aboriginal leaders who are interested in joining the organisation as members and to be considered for transition into member-director roles on the Board. About Many Rivers Many Rivers is an Aboriginal community housing provider headquartered in Port Macquarie. We manage more than 750 homes across New South Wales and work to improve Aboriginal wellbeing through housing, partnerships and community development. Many Rivers is a well-managed and financially sustainable organisation with a cohesive Board and a strong commitment to community connection, good governance and long-term impact. The opportunity Many Rivers is seeking 1 to 2 Aboriginal leaders to join the organisation and contribute to its future governance. Initially, selected applicants will be invited to attend Board and committee meetings as guest attendees. This will provide an opportunity to learn more about Many Rivers, understand its governance and strategic priorities, and contribute to discussions over time. Subject to becoming members and the required approval processes, these individuals may then be considered for appointment as member-directors at the organisation’s AGM in November 2026. Who should apply We are seeking Aboriginal people who: • live within 50 km of a Many Rivers managed property • bring leadership credibility, community connection and sound judgment • are committed to improving outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities • can work collegiately and contribute constructively in a governance environment • can commit 4-6 hours a month to Board and committee responsibilities

We are particularly interested in people with experience, skills or insight in one or more of the following areas: • real estate, housing and community housing • Aboriginal community-controlled organisations • not-for-profit and charity governance • finance, audit or risk • Human resources, talent development or regulated training/teaching • marketing, fundraising, and social media • entrepreneurship, enterprise or business development • strong community networks and local knowledge, particularly in Northern NSW Prior Board experience or governance training is desirable, but not essential. We also welcome interest from emerging Aboriginal leaders who are willing to develop their governance capability. Board commitments The Board meets approximately every two months, either in person or virtually. Committees meet quarterly. The Board also holds an annual in-person strategic meeting. These roles are voluntary and not remunerated; however, travel and accommodation to the Port Macquarie Head Office for meetings are covered by the organisation.
