About Us

Get Around Caboolture is a grassroots community NFP dedicated to making transport in Caboolture and Morayfield easier, safer, and more reliable for everyone—whether they drive, walk, cycle, or use public transport. We believe transport should connect, not divide, and we work to amplify local voices through our Streets and People podcast, social media, and community events.

The Role: Community Engagement Champion

We’re looking for a passionate, people-focused volunteer to help us build stronger connections in our community. You’ll be the bridge between Get Around Caboolture and the people we serve, ensuring their voices shape our work.

Key Tasks

  • Listen and engage: Attend local events, gatherings, and online forums to understand community needs and share our mission.
  • Tell our story: Help craft and share real, relatable stories about transport challenges and solutions (e.g., for newsletters, social media, or reports).
  • Build partnerships: Connect with local groups, councils, and organisations to collaborate on transport initiatives.
  • Gather feedback: Collect and organise community input to guide our projects and advocacy.
  • Support events: Assist in planning and running workshops, pop-ups, or focus groups.

About You

You don’t need to be an expert—just curious, empathetic, and eager to make a difference. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys talking to people and building relationships.
  • Has strong listening and communication skills (written or verbal).
  • Is organised and proactive—able to spot opportunities to engage the community.
  • Cares about local issues and wants to see Caboolture and Morayfield thrive.

Why Volunteer With Us?

  • Make a tangible impact: Your work will directly help improve transport options for people who need them most.
  • Grow your network: Connect with local leaders, organisations, and passionate community members.
  • Develop skills: Gain experience in community engagement, advocacy, and storytelling—great for your CV or future roles.
  • Flexible and rewarding: Volunteer on your own terms, with a team that values your contributions.

Why It Matters

Transport isn’t just about roads—it’s about access, independence, and dignity. When people can’t get where they need to go, they miss out on jobs, education, healthcare, and social connections. By joining us, you’ll help break down barriers and ensure everyone in Caboolture and Morayfield has a voice in shaping their community.
