The Parramatta Half Marathon is Sydney’s newest major running event. On Sunday, June 21, 2026, runners will take over the streets of Parramatta, tackling a 21.1km closed road course through Parramatta Park, the CBD, and along the river foreshore.
We are seeking volunteers to join our Course Marshal team, positioned along the route to help ensure the event runs safely and smoothly.
Course Marshals play a critical role in the success of the event, acting as the eyes and ears on course and supporting both runners and event operations.
Volunteer responsibilities may include:
- Directing runners along the course and at key turning points
- Assisting with road and pedestrian crossings
- Monitoring safety and reporting any incidents or hazards
- Providing clear guidance and support to participants
- Supporting event staff with general course operations
These roles suit individuals who are confident, attentive, and comfortable working independently while remaining part of a wider team.
But none of it happens without volunteers.
Every volunteer receives:
Official Volunteer Shirt Snacks & Water
Volunteers support the work of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, helping raise vital funds and awareness for sick children and their families.
