We are seeking a reliable and community-minded volunteer Bus Driver to support our Friday Lunch Group program. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that elderly and socially isolated community members can safely attend and enjoy a weekly social lunch, promoting connection and wellbeing.

Key Duties

• Safely drive the community bus to pick up and drop off participants for the Friday Lunch Group
• Follow a scheduled route and timetable
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting where required
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers during transit
• Maintain a friendly, respectful, and supportive environment
• Conduct basic vehicle checks before and after use (e.g., fuel, cleanliness, general condition)
• Report any issues or incidents to the program coordinator

Skills & Experience Required

• Valid driver’s licence appropriate for driving a small bus (e.g., LR licence or equivalent)
• Safe driving record and strong awareness of road safety
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting older people
• Reliability and punctuality
• Previous experience in community transport (desirable but not essential)
