Victims & Witnesses of Crime Court Support

As a volunteer Board Member, you will contribute to the governance, strategic oversight, and long term sustainability of VWCCS, a volunteer based, not for profit organisation providing court support services to vulnerable court users.

Working collaboratively with fellow Board members and the General Manager, you will help set and monitor organisational strategy, ensure strong governance and compliance, and support responsible financial oversight. Board Members are expected to prepare for and actively participate in Board meetings, contribute thoughtful and informed decision making, and foster a positive and effective Board culture.

The role also includes supporting organisational sustainability through fundraising, partnerships, and community engagement. Board Members may leverage their professional experience and networks to identify opportunities, build relationships, and raise awareness of VWCCS’s work, always acting in the best interests of the organisation and its mission.

** Key Selection Criteria** a. Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively at a governance or senior leadership level. b. Sound judgement, strategic thinking, and the ability to contribute to oversight and decision-making. c. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. d. Alignment with VWCCS’s mission and values, particularly supporting vulnerable court users. e. Understanding or willingness to learn not-for-profit governance principles and director responsibilities
