Women in Aviation Australian Chapter (WAI Australia) is a national, volunteer‑led organisation committed to increasing the participation, retention, and leadership of women and girls in aviation, aerospace, and space. Our State Chairs deliver events, outreach, and community engagement across Australia — and we’re looking for a dedicated Events Co‑ordinator to help bring it all together.

About the Role

The Events Co‑ordinator will play a key role in strengthening our national operations by supporting State Chairs, maintaining a cohesive events calendar, and helping us collaborate effectively with partner organisations across the sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves organisation, communication, and community-building — and who wants to contribute to a mission that genuinely shifts the dial for women and girls in aviation.

What You’ll Do

Support State Chairs with event planning, logistics, timelines, and documentation

Maintain a national events calendar, ensuring consistency, visibility, and alignment with WAI Australia’s programs and priorities

Coordinate interactions with external organisations, including industry partners, schools, community groups, and event hosts

Assist with event promotion, including drafting event descriptions and coordinating with our communications team

Track event details and outcomes to support reporting, continuous improvement, and national program alignment

Help streamline processes, templates, and tools that make it easier for volunteers to deliver high‑quality events

What You Bring

Strong organisational and communication skills

Confidence coordinating across multiple stakeholders

A proactive, collaborative approach

Comfort working independently and managing small weekly tasks

An interest in aviation, aerospace, STEM, or community engagement (experience not required)

Reliability — our volunteers depend on each other, and we value consistency

What You’ll Gain

Experience in national‑scale event coordination

Exposure to aviation and aerospace networks across Australia

Opportunities to contribute to meaningful programs that support women and girls

A supportive volunteer community and the chance to shape how WAI Australia delivers events nationwide
