Playtime Volunteer

Playtime is a relaxed, welcoming space where young children can explore toys and activities while parents and carers connect with one another. The session supports early learning, social interaction, and community engagement. Volunteer Responsibilities • Setting up toys, play equipment, and activity stations before the session • Creating a warm and welcoming environment for families • Greeting parents/carers and children as they arrive • Interacting positively with families and supporting children’s play • Assisting children to explore and engage with toys and activities • Providing brochures or information about other community services if families request it • Supporting families to feel included and connected • Assisting with pack-up and cleaning at the end of the session • Helping complete the weekly sign-in sheet to support attendance statistics and data collection • Providing feedback to the Program Coordinator about what is working well, improvements, and suggestions
We Are Looking For Someone Who: • Is friendly, approachable, and enjoys working with young children • Has good communication skills • Is reliable and able to commit to weekly attendance • Values inclusion, diversity, and community connection • Is comfortable engaging with both children and adults Experience in early childhood, community services, education, or parenting is welcome but not essential.
Requirements • Willingness to obtain or hold a Working With Children Check • Ability to follow centre policies and procedures • Willingness to work collaboratively with the Program Coordinator
