Art Class Facilitator

The Ozanam Learning Centre is a community centre based in Woolloomooloo where people can connect, learn, participate in activities and workshops, and access a wide range of supports. Our work aims to provide opportunities for inclusion and support for those who need it.
We offer creative programs such as art and music, health, well-being and recovery programs, personal development and living skills programs. We’re proud of our art room, where community members can explore and develop their skills in painting, drawing, collage and pottery. We wish to engage volunteer Open Art class facilitators to broaden our art program and enable more opportunities for creative development and connection.
You will be leading the Open Art class, a drop-in session where participants can dive into their own creative projects, discover new techniques, and experiment with a variety of inspiring art materials. You will be supporting and encouraging participants to develop their skills and explore pathways to further artistic development and education. You will help establish and maintain a lively, cooperative and inspiring atmosphere in the art room. Part of the role is ensuring efficient and effective use of art room resources and supporting the recycling of used materials as appropriate. To do this role you will have a passion for and some experience in teaching visual arts. You will have good people skills, including ability to manage conflict, and a warm, friendly personality, patience, and compassion.
