One in six women in Australia, 17 percent, have experienced physical or sexual violence from someone unknown to them. One in four experience non-domestic gendered violence.

Those statistics sits behind everyday decisions women make about where they park, when they travel, what shifts they take and whether they speak up.

That is not a niche issue. It is a systems issue.

VALER is a women’s safety organisation focused on harm reduction outside the home. We work across workplaces, public spaces and digital environments, combining research, safety audits, training and practical tools to help organisations reduce risk properly.

Four years in, registered as a Not for Profit and endorsed with DGR status, we are a focused team doing serious systems work.

We are growing. And we need builders.

Who We’re Looking For;

We are expanding our team and seeking people who can strengthen and scale our impact across the following areas:

Marketing and Communications Helping translate complex safety research into clear, compelling content. Supporting campaigns, storytelling, social growth and sector positioning.

Technology and Digital Systems Improving internal systems, online learning platforms, reporting tools and digital infrastructure. Supporting automation, CRM, data capture and scalability.

Web and UX Optimising our website, improving resource accessibility, strengthening user journeys and ensuring our tools are practical and easy to navigate.

Design and Brand Creating visual assets that reflect the seriousness of our work while maintaining clarity and credibility. Supporting training materials, campaigns and resource layout.

Grants and Philanthropy Supporting funding strategy, grant writing and partnership development to enable systemic projects to scale.

Research and Development Support Assisting with literature reviews, data analysis, research formatting and translating findings into usable tools.

General Operations and Project Support Helping keep systems tight, projects on track and delivery consistent as we grow.

This is applied work. Real impact. Real deadlines. Real responsibility.

You do not need to come from a women’s safety background. You do need to care about building work that reduces harm in practical ways.

We are a small team with a big mission. Five and growing.
