About Greater Western Sydney Advocacy Network (GWSAN) GWSAN is a regional advocacy network focused on spatial justice, fair public investment, youth opportunity and systems-level reform across Greater Western Sydney. We bring together researchers, professionals, community members and young people to strengthen the region’s voice in policy conversations.
As our network grows, we are seeking a Volunteer Manager to help ensure our volunteers are supported, engaged and aligned to the right roles.
Key responsibilities Maintain and update the volunteer register
Support onboarding of new volunteers
Match volunteers to committees and roles based on skills and interest
Check in periodically with committee chairs
Track engagement and participation
Identify capacity gaps and recommend recruitment needs
Support a positive and inclusive volunteer culture
This role focuses on coordination and people management — not project delivery.
Skills and experience You may have experience in HR, administration, community organisations, governance or team coordination. Formal qualifications are not required.
We are looking for someone who is:
Organised and reliable
Comfortable communicating across teams
Confident coordinating multiple moving parts
Interested in advocacy, public policy or Western Sydney issues
