Volunteer Treasurer
Malvern Special Needs Playgroup has run twice-weekly sessional care for pre-school children with a range of disabilities and provided respite for their parents and carers for over 50 years. MSNP employs five professional staff who are supported by volunteers (one per child attending). There is no other group offering this level of early-intervention care for pre-school children with special needs in Victoria (probably Australia).
Overall responsibility: manage key financial aspects for the Playgroup.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Process payroll for 5 employees
- Process and pay expenses
- Process quarterly BAS payments
- Prepare annual financial statements and quarterly reports
- Manage bank accounts and investments (shared with the President)
- Additional tasks as required
Qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of a Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or qualified Accountant (essential)
- Excellent communication skills (preferable)
- Eye for detail
- Able to work in a team ss well as independently
- Experience using MYOB Business (preferable)
- Experience using Google Drive (preferable)
Experience: Two years' experience in a similar role (preferable)
