Nutcote is the former historic home and garden of May Gibbs, Australia’s foremost children’s author and illustrator, best known for The Complete Adventures of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Now a house museum, Nutcote’s daily operations are supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Museum Support Volunteers undertake a range of tasks related to management of the museum collection and archives, administration tasks related to events, exhibitions, fundraising, educational programs and general tasks that support Nutcote behind the scenes.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with various tasks associated with the Museum Collection including cataloguing, labelling, photographing and recording items.

  • Assisting with the Nutcote archives and records

  • Assisting with event planning

  • Assisting with exhibition planning and

  • Assisting with education program delivery

  • Assisting with fundraising for and promotion of Nutcote

Skills and Attributes:

  • Museum or similar collection/archive or experience desirable but not essential

  • Training provided

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work unsupervised
