About the organisation

Street Side Medics is a not-for-profit GP led organisation, providing a free mobile medical service to those experiencing homelessness and tough times.

The team on the ground each week are all volunteers and include GPs, other medical specialists, junior doctors, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and other medical and non-medical super stars. The clinics operate from vans with full medical fit outs, and work in conjunction with other homeless services 6 days a week at 13 different locations across New South Wales and Victoria.

Our clinics are located at: Waterloo (Thursday Day Clinic) Manly (Monday Night) Woolloomooloo (Tuesday Night) Surry Hills (Wednesday Night) Marrickville (Wednesday Night) Hornsby (Thursday Night) Wollongong (Thursday Night) Blacktown (Saturday Afternoon) Paramatta (Sunday Afternoon) St Kilda (Wednesday Afternoon) Melbourne CBD (Thursday afternoon) Dandenong (Friday morning).

About this opportunity

We are recruiting GP's for the newest Street Side Medics Clinic Based at the Salvation Army’s Newcastle Worship and Community Centre in Hamilton. The clinic will operate every Friday, from 10am to 12 noon (approximate). The clinic will run alongside the Salvation Army’s community lunch and Orange Sky, who provide a free laundry service.

Your commitment as a GP would be to volunteer at the Hamilton clinic once a month, totaling 3-4 hours.

NB Please note that between 19 December and 5 January the organisation will be closed for the Christmas break and will get back to you on their return.
