Gidget Foundation Australia is a national not-for-profit dedicated to supporting the emotional wellbeing of expectant, new and potential parents. We provide free psychological counselling, group programs, and peer support to those experiencing perinatal depression and anxiety. Our mission is to ensure that every parent receives timely, appropriate, and specialist care.

Become a volunteer!

The Community Parenting Program provides GFA with a unique opportunity to connect directly with new parents and with community organisation coordinators and to raise awareness of the importance of perinatal mental health through already established and trusted new parent networks/groups.

The Community Parenting program partners with a range of community organisations and parenting groups including:

  • Antenatal classes in public or private hospitals
  • Community Parenting Groups (Mothers Groups)
  • Established organisations e.g. Playgroups NSW
  • Independent community groups e.g. Library groups, Childcare centres, faith-based groups etc.
