Migrant Services Volunteer

North Coast Settlement Service is a Vinnies service that aims to enable newly arrived humanitarian migrant and refugee communities to become self-reliant, to participate in the broader local community, to develop a shared purpose, and to feel a sense of identity and belonging in Australia. The service also aims to encourage the wider community to be responsive to the needs of emerging communities. We support clients by promoting economic and personal well-being and by empowering them towards independence
Working within a team of Volunteers who support NCSS Case Workers, volunteers triage appointments at Reception, link clients with Case Workers and other services, and keep records of client visits. Other tasks may include:
- Facilitating conversational English or Citizenship classes
- Overseeing a project or an aspect of office admin.
- Encouraging participants to develop their skills and explore pathways to employment through our mentoring program
- Assisting with Community information sessions
- Other activities as per client need and according to your skills & interests
