Volunteer Chair Yoga Facilitator

Do you have a love of yoga and exercise as well as a passion for helping others? If so the Volunteer Chair Yoga Facilitator role may be perfect for you! The Volunteer Chair Yoga Facilitator will lead short, accessible chair-based yoga sessions during MND Queensland’s online Client Support Groups. These gentle sessions aim to help clients relax, unwind, and reconnect with their bodies and breath in a supportive environment. This role contributes directly to the wellbeing of clients, offering a moment of calm in what is often a demanding and emotionally challenging journey. As the Volunteer Chair Yoga Facilitator, you will be:
- Lead a 20-30minute chair-based yoga or mindful movement session via Teams
- Adapt movements to suit all abilities, ensuring safety and comfort
- Create a calm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
- Communicate clearly and confidently through an online format
About you:
- Be a qualified yoga instructor, physio or exercise physiologist (students are welcome to apply) or PT with yoga experience
- Experience or confidence facilitating online sessions
- Comfortable adapting yoga movements for seated practice
- Warm, welcoming and able to support people of varying physical abilities
- Reliable and able to commit to scheduled meeting times once per quarter
- Passionate about helping others and making a positive impact
- A current holder of, or willing to apply for, an NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
This role is able to be conducted remotely as it is based online and conducted via Teams. Dates are to be confirmed so some flexibility is required. Meetings are conducted on Thursday mornings, starting at 10am.
