About the Role
We are inviting an experienced media and public relations professional to join the DART Institute Board. This role is crucial in amplifying DART’s voice, shaping public understanding of family and domestic violence, and raising awareness of our work and impact. If you have expertise in media strategy, communications, or public affairs and are passionate about social justice, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance on media engagement, public relations, and communications to raise DART’s profile.
- Support crisis communication planning and media responses related to family and domestic violence issues.
- Assist in crafting key messages, media campaigns, and public awareness initiatives.
- Leverage media contacts and networks to secure coverage and promote DART’s programs and events.
- Work collaboratively with the Board and Executive to align communications with organisational goals.
- Advocate publicly for the organisation’s mission and values, enhancing reputation and stakeholder trust.
Selection Criteria
- Proven experience in media relations, public relations, communications, or journalism.
- Strong media network and ability to engage effectively with journalists and media outlets.
- Skilled in strategic communication, messaging, and campaign development.
- Experience in crisis communication or managing sensitive public issues is an asset.
- Passionate about family and domestic violence prevention and social change.
- Previous board or governance experience is a plus
