Grant Writer

Duties and Responsibilities
Grant Development
- Research and identify relevant funding opportunities, including club grants, local council grants, and state and federal government grants.
- Draft clear, persuasive, and compelling grant applications aligned with Taldumande’s mission and objectives.
- Maintain and update a grants calendar to track submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and outcomes.
Volunteer Induction and Training
- All volunteers will receive an induction and training relevant to their role, including child safety, WHS, and organisational policies.
Competency Profile
Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in communications, writing, fundraising, or related fields desirable.
- Current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
- Current National Police Check
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the Australian funding landscape including government, council, philanthropic foundations, and corporate giving.
Skills
- Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to craft persuasive funding proposals.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing, preferably within the not-for-profit sector.
- Familiarity with grant management software or fundraising platforms desirable.
