About Parent Thread Parent Thread is a Geelong-based social enterprise dedicated to creating meaningful spaces of connection for parents. Our programs include Bloom & Connect for expectant mums, Strong Starts for Dads, and other community circles that foster belonging and support. We want our online presence to reflect the warmth and energy of these programs, and we’re looking for a creative volunteer to help us do just that.

The Role

We’re seeking a Social Media Volunteer to edit event footage and design engaging social media content that showcases Parent Thread’s programs. You’ll help us create scroll-stopping reels, stories, and tiles that capture the essence of our community and invite more parents to join.

This role is remote and flexible, we’ll provide the raw video and images, and you’ll work your magic to turn them into compelling posts.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit short-form video content (Reels/TikTok) using footage provided from our events.

• Design engaging social media tiles and carousels (using Canva or similar tools) to highlight upcoming programs, quotes, and event moments.

• Add text overlays, captions, and audio to reels to maximise impact and accessibility.

• Create consistent, branded content in line with Parent Thread’s style and voice (warm, inclusive, community-focused).

• Schedule posts (if available) or provide finished content for posting.

• Optional: suggest creative ideas for how to tell our story online.

What We’re Looking For

• Someone who understands what makes people stop scrolling!

• Experience with short-form video editing (Reels/TikTok preferred).

• Familiarity with Canva or other simple design tools.

• A flair for storytelling, aesthetics, and visual communication.

• Reliability, creativity, and alignment with our values of connection and community.

Location is flexible — you do not need to be local.
