Join our State Training & Development Team as a Trainer Development and Engagement Coordinator and play a pivotal role in building the expertise of those who train our life-saving volunteers.
About the Role
As our Event Health Services (EHS) Trainer Development and Engagement Coordinator, you'll be the architect of trainer excellence within St John Ambulance Australia Victoria. You'll manage our comprehensive Accredited Trainer induction and mentorship programs, ensuring every trainer who joins our organization is equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver outstanding first aid education.
Working within our State Training & Development Team, you'll oversee the complete trainer journey – from initial induction through ongoing professional development – while ensuring full compliance with Registered Training Organisation (RTO) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Trainer Excellence Programs
• Manage the development, implementation and oversight of Accredited Trainer induction programs
• Design and deliver comprehensive mentorship programs for new and existing trainers
• Ensure all trainer induction meets RTO requirements and regulatory standards
• Support trainers new to SJAA(VIC) through structured orientation and development pathways
Professional Development Leadership
• Collaborate with the State Training & Development Team to create innovative trainer development solutions
• Ensure trainers meet their role scopes of practice and annual professional development requirements
• Develop engaging and timely training programs that enhance trainer capabilities
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence among trainers
Strategic Impact & Innovation
• Influence relevant projects and strategic initiatives to enhance trainer and member experience
• Support day-to-day training activities while driving organizational training standards
• Contribute to metric outputs that demonstrate training effectiveness and quality
• Help prepare trainers to equip St John members for excellence at events of all scales
Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Ensure all trainer development activities meet RTO compliance requirements
• Maintain high standards across all trainer induction and development programs
• Monitor and evaluate trainer performance and development outcomes
• Support continuous improvement in training quality and delivery methods
