About the Club

Tiger Wests runs a weekly athletics competition for children on Friday evenings from September through to March at the Athletics Oval in Wyatt Park Auburn/Lidcombe. We run on a not-for-profit basis and we are powered entirely by parents and community volunteers.

Our goal is to be the friendliest community sports club in the area, giving every child the opportunity to get active, make friends and have fun. Our club represents the multicultural diversity of our area, with families from all different backgrounds actively participating. Children of all levels of abilities are welcome. Our focus is to encourage everyone to be their best!

About the Role

As an Age Group Manager, you’ll help create a safe, inclusive, and energetic environment where kids can participate in athletics events where they run, jump and throw. You don’t need to be an expert — just someone with a passion for being active and a willingness to get involved!

Responsibilities include:

• Welcoming families and engaging with kids
• Management of track and field activities for a small group of children
• Promoting teamwork, participation, and enjoyment

Ideal Volunteer Profile:

• Friendly and enthusiastic
• Good communication skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Holds or is willing to obtain a Working With Children Check
• Available Friday evenings during the season
• Passionate about Running, Jumping or Throwing (no coaching experience required, but would be beneficial!)
• Great experience for students going into Primary or PE Teaching

Time Commitment:

• Fridays between 6PM - 8PM (for usually around 1-1.5 hours depending on the size of the group)
• Location: Athletics Track in Wyatt Park Auburn/Lidcombe
• Start Date: September 2025
• Duration: Summer season (September–March, around 20 Fridays - There is a break for summer school holidays)
