Volunteer Temporary IT Computer Teacher

About the Role The Mount Druitt Ethnic Communities Agency (MECA) is seeking a passionate Temporary IT Computer Teacher to deliver beginner-friendly computer classes for members of our culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) community. This role will help participants build essential digital skills to navigate everyday tasks, connect with others, and access opportunities in education, work, and life.
Key Duties
Plan and deliver interactive computer lessons tailored to varying skill levels
Teach basic digital skills including email use, internet browsing, Microsoft Office, and online form completion
Provide patient, clear explanations and hands-on support during classes
Foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment sensitive to cultural diversity
Support learners in building confidence and independence with technology
Skills and Experience
Experience in teaching or training computer skills, ideally with adult or community learners
Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts simply
Patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity to support CALD learners
Basic familiarity with common computer programs and online tools
Reliability and commitment to scheduled sessions
