Volunteer Soccer Program Coach

About the Role MECA, is looking for a dedicated Volunteer Soccer Coach to run our weekly Thursday afternoon soccer program at the Emerton Youth and Recreation Centre and to coordinate our School Holiday Soccer Tournaments. This role offers the chance to work directly with young people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, helping them develop skills, build friendships, and feel a sense of belonging through sport.
Key Duties Lead fun, inclusive soccer training sessions every Thursday (4:00pm – 5:00pm)
Create a safe, welcoming environment for young participants
Plan and coordinate School Holiday Soccer Tournaments (two to three times per year)
Collaborate with MECA’s youth team and Blacktown City Council staff to deliver quality programs Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among participants Assist with set-up, pack-down, and basic equipment care
Skills and Experience Basic soccer coaching or playing experience (formal coaching qualifications welcome but not essential)
Passion for working with young people and diverse communities
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to engage and motivate participants of varying skill levels
Reliability and commitment to the role
