Listen and Support Client/ Carer program

The Volunteer Coordinator will meet with the volunteer and client separately to ensure a suitable match organise an introduction for the volunteer and client to meet and get to know each other.
At this initial introduction, day, time, frequency of visits will be discussed to ensure the opportunity is mutually beneficial and agreeable.
After the initial meeting, scheduled or planned follow ups, are organised by the volunteer and client.
Throughout the engagement, the Volunteer Coordinator will check in with both the volunteer and the client to ensure the ‘partnership’ is working well for both parties. The volunteer Coordinator will offer support, pastoral care and ongoing training as required. This is also an opportunity for the volunteer to raise concerns and areas for additional learning and skill acquisition.

Acquisition of transferable skills through participation in quality training to ensure program readiness and ongoing success of the interaction and service.
- NDIS and MAC Compliance documentation.
- NDIS Clearance ( MNDSA will cover cost)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (online)
- MNDSA training required to help support volunteer with information regarding MND, grief and loss, death and dying and what to expect when visiting a client and their family in their own home.
- Driver’s licence would be beneficial.
