The Kinglake Trust Reserve (KTR) Inc. is on the lookout for a Event Coordinator Volunteer to support and guide local community groups in planning and running events at the Ellimatta Centre and associated facilities. We’re seeking someone with enthusiasm, initiative, and a love for community to help bring local events to life – from initial idea through to successful delivery. You’ll be the friendly point of contact for groups needing a helping hand, offering practical support and coordination to make their events a reality.
About Kinglake Trust Reserve (KTR)
Located in Kinglake within the Murrindindi Shire, just 54 km north-east of Melbourne, KTR is a nonprofit organization proudly operated by a dedicated volunteer committee. We manage and maintain a vital recreational space that brings the community together through a range of inclusive events and activities. About the Role
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in event management while making a meaningful impact in the community. As the Event Coordinator Volunteer, you will collaborate closely with local residents and community groups to bring their event ideas to life. You will be supported by a dedicated and experienced volunteer management committee, ensuring you have guidance and resources every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist local community members and groups in scoping and planning events held at the Ellimatta Centre.
- Support community organizations with event logistics, including securing permits, insurance, and required approvals.
- Facilitate the effective use of KTR facilities to ensure smooth and efficient event operations.
- Provide guidance and support to community groups managing event budgeting, planning, and execution.
- Report regularly to the KTR Committee on the progress of community events and identify any additional support or resources required.
Skills & Experience:
- Ideally possesses experience in event planning, coordination, or management, or is currently pursuing studies in a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and support community members and groups through all stages of event planning and execution.
- Basic understanding of event budgeting, with the capability to advise individuals and community groups on funding requirements.
- Familiarity with permit applications, insurance requirements, and traffic management planning—or a willingness to learn these processes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively.
