Laundry Volunteer

Do you have a few hours each week to spare and a big heart for people doing it tough?
Orange Sky is on the lookout for dedicated volunteers to join our new Pick-Up Laundry Shifts across Ipswich, Oxley and Indooroopilly.
Unlike our traditional van or pod shifts, these ones work a little differently – and are just as impactful. You'll be part of a small but mighty team that:
- Picks up laundry from local crisis or transitional accommodation services
- Drives it to a nearby laundromat
- Washes, dries and folds with care
- Returns it to our friends once it’s clean (and still fresh out of the warm dryer!)
*We currently need volunteers for the following shifts: *
- OXLEY – Mondays, 5:30pm to 8:00pm
- OXLEY - Tuesdays, 5:30pm to 8:00pm
- IPSWICH – Thursdays, 4:00pm to 6:30pm
- ** INDOOROOPILLY** – Wednesdays, 4:30pm to 7:00pm
- INDOOROOPILLY - Thursdays, 4:30pm to 7:00pm
What you’ll need:
- A valid Queensland Blue Card – if you don’t have one, we’ll help you apply
- A driver’s licence (bonus, but not essential)
- A kind heart, open mind, and willingness to be part of a team making a difference
What you’ll get:
- Real human connection
- The chance to support people doing it tough in your community
- Training, ongoing support, and the satisfaction of knowing you’re part of something bigger!
