Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? Do you have senior corporate experience and networks which you are wanting to utilise to support the not for profit sector now? Are you interested in serving in a purpose-driven small NGO to help build its resources to support its mission with our Pacific and Asian partners? If so, Palms International Volunteering is inviting applications now for our Board of Directors.

About Us: Palms International Volunteering has, for over 60 years, been committed to empowering communities through long term volunteer programs to support sustainable development. We seek to foster global solidarity and create lasting change in the lives of those we serve.

What We Are Looking For: We are looking for dynamic individuals with: • Business Acumen: Background in business development, operational transformation, strategic planning, and corporate fundraising. Experienced and qualified Board directors (eg: GAICD) are particularly encouraged to apply. • Network Connections: Ability to leverage professional networks to lift our profile and support our professional recruitment, fundraising and social enterprise objectives. • Legal Expertise: including company secretary, employment and contract law and NGO governance. Experience in an international relations and government environment also welcome. • Pacific Island or South East Asian Background: Members of the diaspora from the countries with which we partner are encouraged to apply. • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders: First Nations Australians are always encouraged to join us.

Your Role: As a Board member, you will: • Provide governance, strategic guidance and oversight. • Develop and implement major fundraising strategies. • Leverage your professional network to support the organisation’s volunteer recruitment objectives. • Help oversee and support the development of a new social enterprise supporting our mission.
