ABOUT US Open Doors Youth Service (ODYS) supports LGBTIQ+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy young people aged 12 to 24 and is the only service of its kind in Queensland. ODYS is dedicated to:

• Empowering young people to live with pride as valued, celebrated, and authentic members of community
• Engaging a workforce with lived experience and professional expertise
• Providing safe spaces to connect with peers and community to foster a sense of belonging
• Advocating for the rights and needs of our young people to improve their access to resources and supports
• Improving mental health outcomes and lowering suicidality for LGBTIQ+SB young people

Our mission is that all LGBTIQ+SB young people have access to appropriate and safe supports that builds resilience, strengthens identity, and provides them with community. Our framework is built on the pillars of safety, connection, and pride.

Our vision is a world where all young people can live authentically and unapologetically, free from the fear of violence, discrimination, and isolation.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We welcome applications from people with experience in:

• Governance, finance, or legal
• Marketing, communications, or fundraising
• Youth services, mental health, or community engagement
• LGBTIQ+SB advocacy and lived experience

Previous board experience is welcome but not essential—what matters most is your commitment to inclusion, equity, and community-driven leadership. We believe our board should be a reflection of the young people we serve, and we therefore strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and trans and gender diverse people.
