Volunteer Video Editor

🎥 Real rescues. Real impact. Real stories.
We’re looking for a volunteer video editor to help us bring our rescue stories to life — from the chaos of bushfire zones to the quiet moments of recovery. Your edits will raise awareness, inspire donations, and help give animals a second chance.
🐨 Who are we? Vets for Compassion is a volunteer-led animal rescue organisation responding to animals in crisis across Australia. We care for injured wildlife, neglected farm animals, and animals affected by bushfires and natural disasters.
🐾 What You’ll Do:
- Edit raw footage into videos for social media
- Help shape storylines that highlight our rescue efforts and the animals we care for
- Collaborate with our photographer, comms team, and on-ground rescuers
- Contribute creative ideas to help us reach more people and raise support
🎯 Requirements:
- Experience editing videos (portfolio or examples required)
- Proficient with editing software (e.g. Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
- Available approx. 1 day per fortnight (we're quite flexible)
- Passion for animal welfare and ethical storytelling
Bonus: Experience with sound design, subtitles, or mobile video formats (Reels, TikTok)
💚 What You’ll Gain:
- Build a real-world portfolio with purpose-driven video work that makes a difference
- You will be under the guidance of an experienced videographer who has worked on shows like Bondi Vet, Paramedics, Ambulance and Mega Zoo.
- See your edits published on social media, in fundraising campaigns, and across media channels (with full credit)
- Access authentic, behind-the-scenes rescue content you won’t find anywhere else
- Learn about wildlife rescue, large animal care, and the impact of ethical storytelling
- Use your skills to support a cause you care about — and help save lives, one story at a time
- Collaborate with a supportive, like-minded creative team
- Flexible, meaningful work that fits around your schedule
