Technical Support - Senior
The Laptop Initiative is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to bridging the digital divide by recovering unused laptops from businesses and distributing them to charities and individuals in need. In this hands-on role, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring donated laptops have been securely wiped and ready for their new homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and test a sample of donated laptops as part of our ongoing audit process (hardware and software)
- Install and configure operating systems and essential software when required
- Troubleshoot technical issues and perform basic repairs or upgrades
- Maintain accurate records of devices processed and distributed
- Provide occasional technical advice to recipient charities or end users
About You:
- Experience with Windows / Linux and/or Mac laptops (Troubleshooting, OS installation, hardware upgrades)
- Understanding of data privacy and secure data erasure processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a willingness to help others
We are looking for somebody that has been in the IT Industry for at least five years and who can lead a group of young and engaged volunteers.
