Virtual Site Coordinator - emotion21 dance and fitness class

emotion21 is a program of Inclusion Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that provides innovative programs in dance and fitness for children and young adults with Down syndrome. emotion21, through dance, fitness, education and capacity building programs, enhances lives and changes perceptions of Down syndrome and intellectual disability within society.
The Site Coordinator is the ‘face’ of emotion21 for the site. The purpose of the Site Coordinator is to manage queries or issues and support teaching staff, dancers and families as required.
The role of the site coordinator includes:
Culture setter – leading by example by creating a welcoming space and interactions between movers, key support people, participants and teachers reflect the emotion21 values.
Communication specialist –Be “our ears” on site, regularly communicating key information to the emotion21 office on a timely basis to support our continuous improvement and ensuring compliance.
Cooperation coach – encouraging full participation from the site for key events happening in the emotion21 calendar.
Key tasks will include:
- Take attendance for class each week.
- Engage with teachers and movers each week at class. Make them feel valued and part of the community.
- Engage with key support people in each class
- Train movers to communicate any changes to their commitment to Program Manager
- Maintain compliance and create awareness of emotion21 policy and procedures, (e.g. code of conduct, confidentiality, incident reporting, health and safety, etc.) with participants, key support people and movers.
- Work with the teacher to ensure and promote all health and safety regulations are followed and safe-working practices are observed
- Provide emergency management support to teachers where necessary.
- Support teachers when requested and participate in the end of class debrief session.
There are no pre-requisite qualifications for this position, we are seeking a team player who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Down syndrome and their families.
All volunteers are required to have, or be willing to obtain, a current Volunteer NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
