Why you should Volunteer with AWH
Here’s why volunteering with us is an opportunity you won’t want to miss:
Transform Lives in Your Community: Your time and energy can brighten the days of patients, support families, and assist our dedicated hospital staff. Fundraising roles (such as the Opportunity Shops) help purchase life-changing equipment like Dialysis Beds, a Catheter Lab, or a Paediatric Colonvideoscope. As a volunteer with AWH your efforts directly improve local healthcare.
Find Your Perfect Role: Whether you love chatting with people as a Concierge, bringing comfort through Pet Therapy, driving the Shuttle Service, or supporting our Wellness Centre, there’s a role that matches your passion and schedule. With flexible hours, volunteering fits seamlessly into your life.
Connect and Grow: Become part of our 250+ strong volunteer family, where you’ll meet new friends and work alongside inspiring healthcare professionals. Plus, gain valuable skills in customer service, emotional support, or even eco-initiatives like the Green Team’s Return & Earn program.
Feel the Reward of Giving Back: Nothing beats the feeling of making someone’s day better. Whether you’re offering a kind word in Palliative Care or joining community celebrations like National Volunteer Week, you’ll be valued, appreciated, and celebrated for your impact.
Be Inspired Every Day: At AWH, you’ll be part of Australia’s first cross-border public health service, serving over 250,000 people with inclusivity and heart. From supporting Fracture Clinic to contributing as a consumer representative on various Committees, your work fuels a healthier, happier community.
