The role of a Volunteer Driver or Driver’s Aid is to collect items from our suppliers as directed.
A vehicle will be supplied to you unless other arrangements have been made prior.
Upon your arrival to the distribution centre, you will be given an induction on what is expected of you throughout the shift. On completion of the induction, you will be instructed by your supervisor of the pick-ups required on that day.
All goods collected are to be loaded into the vehicle by yourself and driver aid (if available) and then returned to the centre for sorting and distribution. On arrival to the centre, you will be required to then unload the vehicle. There will be other volunteers available to assist you.

Your assistance may be required in other areas if no further pick-ups are required. Again, your supervisor will direct you here.
Other assistance may fall into the following categories:

• Assist with sorting of food into hampers
• Lifting of hampers or boxes within the centre
• Delivery of trays to certain suppliers
• Delivery of goods to other charities
• Re fuel vehicle in preparation for following week
• Assist in the general cleaning of the hall
