About Us:
We are Dogs Canberra Limited (DogsCBR), a recently-established not-for-profit working to enrich public mental health and community wellbeing through dog-centred services. Our organisation is growing and it's time for 2 Human Resources officers to join the team!

Position and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a dedicated person to take ownership of the Human Resources functions of our growing volunteer-run organisation.
Recruitment:
- Coordinate development of position descriptions.
- Advertise positions.
- Develop assessment methodology and criteria, and review & shortlist applicants.
- Arrange and lead interviews.
- Handle onboarding and separation administration.
Policy:
- Maintain and develop human resource policies.
- Support identifying gaps and future needs as we expand.
- Be aware of best-practice techniques for volunteer-run organisations and any relevant regulatory considerations.
Ongoing people management:
- Maintain the register of staff details and records of personnel documentation.
- Be the first point of contact for HR-related enquiries.
- Provide guidance on managing any personnel incidents or conflict, and contribute to their successful management.
- Support, and where appropriate lead, organisational efforts to promote staff retention, such as by sustaining volunteer engagement, morale, encouraging feedback.
There is also the opportunity to be involved in other aspects of the organisation, whether on the ground in Canberra or remotely.
About You:
We're seeking individuals who are not only passionate about dogs and their community but also dedicated to enhancing mental health awareness and support. Work experience in a human resources role is preferred, however tertiary studies in a relevant field or general management/supervisory experience will also be well-received.
A friendly and collaborative communication style is desirable, and it is important that you are self-motivated and can make progress towards goals without close supervision.
On average we expect this position will take a few hours per week, but will fluctuate substantially based on recruitment and other activity. We ask for a commitment of at least three months.
While some preference is given to applicants located within the ACT, this position is suitable for remote work.
