🗣️ About the Role
As an English Conversation Volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping adult learners from Latin American and other international backgrounds build confidence in speaking English and feel more connected in Australia. These sessions are informal, supportive, and designed to help learners improve their fluency, listening, and real-world communication skills.
You don’t need to be a qualified teacher, just a native English speaker with a friendly attitude, a willingness to chat, and an interest in cultural exchange.
🔍What we are looking for: We are seeking friendly people who enjoy connecting with others and want to make a positive impact. Ideal volunteers will have:
-A friendly, patient, and supportive communication style
-Comfort speaking with people from different cultures and backgrounds
-Confidence using Zoom for online sessions
-Availability for at least 1.5 hours per week, fortnightly, or monthly
-A current Police Check (or willingness to apply)
-Reliability and a genuine interest in supporting migrants and international students
-(Bonus) Ability to speak Spanish is helpful, but not required
-We welcome native English speakers from all backgrounds. An Australian accent is a plus, as it helps students get familiar with local expressions and culture.

✅ Make a real impact through language and connection
✅ Gain confidence in public speaking, facilitation, and leadership
✅ Meet people from all over the world
