KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Club Leadership Team to develop an annual fundraising plan/strategy with targets, goals and proposed budget.
  • Inspire and develop new and imaginative fundraising activities which both raise funds and awareness of Special Olympics at a local level.
  • Seek fundraising opportunities and recruiting new supporters through community events, local government and corporate sponsorship
  • Overseeing and working with fundraising team members to implement the fundraising strategy into an action plan
  • Take responsibility for the planning and coordination of fundraising activities and events
  • Organise meetings with fundraising volunteers/team, as required to deliver the fundraising action plan.
  • Coordinate (project manage) the activities of volunteers delegated/assigned to action fundraising tasks or organise events.
  • Contribute knowledge and experience of fundraising, as necessary.
  • Undertaking fundraising tasks, as required to support the overall team.
  • Work with the club Communications Coordinator to develop content for promotion of fundraising activities and events to club membership and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the club Chair and Treasurer regarding fundraising budgets and reconciliation of fundraising proceeds.
  • Liaise with State and National Fundraising staff as necessary (e.g. particularly for state or national campaigns which deliver funding opportunities to our club)
  • Monitor the progress of fundraising activities and report monthly to the Club Committee
  • Attending monthly MIE Committee meetings (first Tuesday of each month)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Well-developed interpersonal and networking skills
  • Excellent written, online and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in a similar role and/or exposure to event management, business development, fundraising and project management
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Creative and innovative
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office software - e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams etc.
  • Experience with digital design (e.g. Canva) and/or event booking apps (e.g. Humanitix, TryBooking etc.) is desirable
  • Highly organised and reliable with good time management skills
  • Able to work independently and show initiative
  • Must have own computer
  • Willing to work flexible hours from home
