Shikodo, meaning ‘A Way of Thinking’ is an Australian-based registered not-for-profit organisation, whose purpose is to empower young people to work towards breaking through barriers that may prevent them from reaching their fullest potential. The primary focus of Shikodo’s work is with young marginalised persons who have experienced trauma, displacement, and disempowerment as well as socio-economic challenges. Shikodo provides services in Life Skills Mindset Coaching and Mentoring through the Eight Doors Program both locally and internationally. We believe that having the right mindset and skills makes all the difference. Shikodo’s carefully selected and trained Coaches and tutors have dedication and skills that are exceptional and come from a wide range of backgrounds. Our work is both national and global. We are seeking a Mathematics Tutor for a TAFE female student with a refugee background who has been struggling with this subject. It requires a volunteer who is confident to tutor at TAFE level or retired teacher. Coaching will take place within the local Merrylands Library at hours that suit both parties on a weekly basis. Tutoring would require a commitment of at least two - three hour per week including preparation time.
