About us and why volunteer at the Fair Trade Shop WA?
Formed in June 2007, the Oxfam Group Fair Trade Shop WA is committed to supporting Fair Trade and Oxfam Australia through voluntary work. The focus of the shop and group is the promotion of Fair Trade products and information to the wider community, whilst also raising funds for Oxfam Australia. Group members also attend community events, and in doing so sell Fair Trade products and raise awareness
The role
The group are currently looking for a volunteer who may be able to support with social media and marketing initiatives. The group are particularly looking for assistance with re-activating their social media channels and supporting with posting interesting and engaging content.
We promote diversity and practice equity. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.
Key tasks
- Working with the group Volunteer Coordinator, support with the development of social media content on the groups existing social media channels to drive engagement
- Support the group with ad hoc marketing intiatives and assist with raising awareness of key issues/events such as NAIDOC Week, Plastic Free July and Oxfam’s Unwrapped campaign.
- Support group members with developing social media/marketing strategies to enhance engagement.
Experience/skills/qualifications required
- Experience and/or interest in working on social media content and/or marketing intiatives within a community content is advantageous (but not essential).
- Commitment to the role and to the Fair Trade Shop WA group values, in particular an interest in Fair Trade principles and Oxfam Australia’s work.
