Client Services Volunteer

Purpose of the role:
- To support the roll-out of a Client Check-in Pilot Program
- Ensure Guide Dogs NSW/ACT Clients remain connected with service and enjoy regular check-in calls with a friendly volunteer.
- Provide Clients with information about services and upcoming activities.
- This role would suit a student studying a Graduate Diploma in Orientation and Mobility or Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree.
Location:
Hybrid, remote and onsite (Parramatta Office)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong communication
- Friendly, professional, clear voice
- Active listener
- Empathetic
- Understand and adhere to the boundaries of the role (e.g., not giving professional advice, but offering support and information on services available)
- Respecting Client privacy and confidentiality
- Technologically proficient (MS Teams to contact the Clients).
The role includes tasks such as:
- Contacting Clients by phone
- Providing a listening ear
- Recording interactions
- Referring Clients to appropriate services
- Updating the Client about GDN’s services and upcoming activities.
Additional accountabilities:
Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Follow Guide Dogs NSW/ACT WH&S policy, procedures and rules, and follow safe work practices.
