The Opportunity

The Men’s Kitchen teaches older blokes some basic cooking skills and has grown from our 2016, six-person operation in Sydney's Frenchs Forest area to now having over 280 members in NSW, ACT and QLD. We expect to launch our operation into two further locations this year.

We are expanding our operation nationally to take our social cooking experience to potentially thousands more older blokes. This role is a great opportunity for you to join our team at this expansive time and help support us on this exciting journey.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Digital Skills Mentor to join our IT team and so we are seeking candidates seeking a part time, voluntary role in this capacity.

The Men’s Kitchen has deployed Office 365 and SharePoint to manage our files and will launch Teach n' Go this year to manage our membership.

The Men’s Kitchen is seeking the services of a suitably experienced person to guide our members in the use of our IT as we grow and evolve. We’re looking for you to provide initial training on product use and then a broad level of support, including offering remote hands-on support where necessary. Your role will be to guide users so they can undertake their role using the IT tools we provide.

What you'll bring

  • Previous Digital Skills Mentor experience
  • Patience to deal with older people having limited IT experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in the technical aspects of Office 365, OneDrive, Teams online video communication, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
