Fundraising and Partnerships Team Member

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to connect with a diverse range of partners, donors, and community members. You are proactive, organised, and eager to contribute ideas that help grow Bicycles for Humanity Melbourne’s fundraising and partnerships efforts.
Previous experience in fundraising, stakeholder engagement, or partnerships is valuable but not essential—what matters most is your enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and commitment to making a difference.
If you have previous not-for-profit experience this would be well regarded but again is not essential.
Key responsibilities
- Strengthening & Diversifying Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing partners by increasing communication and collaboration.
- Recognise and celebrate partner contributions in alignment with their preferences.
- Identify and pursue new partnerships, particularly within cycling, triathlon, and aligned community groups, to diversify revenue streams.
- Enhancing Membership & Community Engagement
- Assist in developing and promoting initiatives to foster long-term engagement with donors, supporters, and volunteers.
- Support the creation of a monthly newsletter showcasing impact stories, fundraising efforts, and upcoming initiatives.
- Provide guidance and resources for community-led fundraising activities, including toolkits and recognition for supporters.
- Contributing to Strategy Development
- Support strategic initiatives to refine fundraising strategies and explore grant opportunities.
- Assist with internal reviews and contribute to the development of a long-term fundraising growth plan.
Other
- Participate in ad hoc fundraising activities as required.
- Contribute to raising the profile of fundraising internally through internal communication about the need for fundraising and the impact of donations, and share success stories with the team.
- Foster an attitude of continuous improvement and innovation – especially in donor propositions, journey, channels and agency management
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of new fundraising and partnership volunteers.

- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

- Enthusiastic about helping to achieve Bicycles for Humanity’s key goals.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in fundraising, stakeholder engagement, or corporate partnerships.
- Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
- Experience working with community groups and other NFPs or charities.
