Transport Call Centre Operators

This is a Centrelink-approved activity and is based in our Cleveland office. Role responsibilities include:
- Answering phones
- Handling enquiries
- Directing calls to the relevant team/staff member
- Data entry
Position requirements:
- Be able to volunteer at least one day per week
- Previous phone/call centre experience (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Able to recognise and respect the dignity, privacy, spiritual and cultural needs of clients
- Have a caring, compassionate nature
- Able to participate in training
- Be over 18 years of age
All staff and volunteers must undergo an NDIS Workers' Screening Check (previously a Yellow Card), which includes a National Police Check. STAR will assist successful applicants with this and provide full training. STAR believes volunteering shouldn't leave you out of pocket. STAR reimburses volunteers for daily out-of-pocket expenses—$15 for ½ days (4 hours) or $30 for a full day (7-8 hrs). This is a non-taxable reimbursement. Successful volunteers will also have (or be prepared to have) a current Flu vaccination.
