Bicycles for Humanity Melbourne is a voluntary, not-for- profit organisation that collects disused bicycles and ships them to communities in need. The bicycles change lives forever by improving basic mobility for access to health care and education and increasing economic productivity. The container then becomes a pre-built bicycle workshop providing employment opportunities.
You’ll work closely with the Treasurer and Leadership Team to record, organise and maintain the organisations weekly and monthly financial transactions (which are small in number), provide input to financial reporting and budgeting, and contribute to policies and procedure development that align with the organisations mission.
While key responsibilities will be finalised and agreed with a newly appointed Treasurer, they are likely to include: *Transaction management including tax deductible receipts and general payments to facilitate daily operations
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Bank Reconciliations within accounting software (Xero)
- Preparing and lodging BAS/ GST and other statements
- Providing monthly financial performance reports to be shared with the Board, CEO and Leadership team
- Support the Treasurer in proving financial reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements and B4H policies.
